Ship Specifications (Specs)
Each ship has one specification. A specification encapsulates the type of form function the ship was manufactured for. Different specs cater to a variety of activities ranging from combat to mining.
Specification Descriptions
Spec | Description |
---|---|
Fighter | Fighter Spec ships are those whose initial manufacturing purpose was warfare, offering tactical offensive capabilities against smaller, lighter targets, including smugglers, pirates, and enemy Fighters, as well as strategic defensive capabilities against enemy fleets and Bombers. Designed to deter attacks with long-range, heavy firepower, or intercept intruders, Fighters range in Class from XX-Small to Titan. |
Bomber | Bomber Spec ships are those whose initial manufacturing purpose was warfare, offering strategic offensive capabilities, particularly against slower, or stationary targets, including planetary surface installations, orbital space stations, and larger vessels. Designed to deliver massive amounts of damage while defending itself against much more agile Fighters, Bombers range in Class from XX-Small to Titan. |
Bounty Hunter | Bounty Hunter ships are those whose initial manufacture may have been for military or law enforcement purposes, but in post-war times have found a market among certain fringes of the private sector. Designed to intercept, disable, and detain, Bounty Hunters range in Class from Small to Large. |
Smuggler | Smuggler ships may have a range of initial manufacturing purposes, but ultimately have been selected for their speed, range, and ability to blend in, while carrying precious cargo which the owner does not wish to be discovered. Designed to traffic in any and all forms of valuable goods, legal and otherwise, Smugglers range in Class from Small to Large. |
Freighter | Freighter ships are those manufactured expressly for the purpose of shipping large volumes of cargo across the wide expanse of the galaxy, whether between planets, between systems, or between the zones. Designed with minimal defenses of their own and attended by a wide array of other ships in a fleet to ensure their safe arrival, Freighters range in Class from Small to Commander. |
Refuel | Refuel ships are those manufactured for the purpose of delivering the vast, necessary quantities of fuel to power each of the factions’ fleets operating in any capacity across the low, medium, and high-risk zones. Designed for fuel transport as well as being equipped with Refueling Rigs for ship-to-ship deep space refueling operations, Refuelers range in Class from Small to Commander. |
Refuel/Repair | Refuel/Repair ships are specifically manufactured with the purpose of offering assistance to vessels in need of refueling or repairs while away from port or drydock facilities. Designed to travel with a fleet, or respond to distress calls near and far, Refuel/Repair ships range in Class from Small to Capital. |
Repair | Repair ships are specifically manufactured with the purpose of offering assistance to vessels in need of repairs while away from port or drydock facilities. Designed to travel with a fleet, or respond to distress calls near and far, Repair ships range in Class from Small to Large. |
Salvage | Salvage ships are specifically manufactured with the purpose of recovering valuable parts and materials from derelict vessels and space stations that are damaged beyond reasonable repair. Designed to travel near and far, to scavenge this space junk, Salvage ships range in Class from Small to Capital. |
Rescue | Rescue ships are specifically manufactured with the purpose of offering emergency medical assistance to ships and their crews who are experiencing a catastrophic life support failure due to accident or space combat or have otherwise activated escape pods which now require recovery. Designed to travel with a fleet, or respond to distress calls near and far, Rescue ships range in Class from Small to Capital. |
Transport | Transport ships are those manufactured expressly for the purpose of transporting passengers across the wide expanse of the galaxy, whether between planets, between systems, or between the zones, whether in the form of taxis, or shuttles for short commutes, or cruise liners and private yachts for longer or more luxurious journeys. Designed primarily with self-defense as the only combat option and often attended by other ships in a fleet for security purposes, Transports range in Class from X-Small to Commander. |
Racer | Racer ships are those whose initial manufacture may have been for light military or transport purposes but have been modified to enhance their speed and handling performance for competition in galactic racing circuits. Designed to outrun, outmaneuver, and in some systems outgun, Racers range in Class from XX-Small to Medium. |
Data Runner | Data Runner ships may have a range of initial manufacturing purposes, but ultimately have been modified for their stealth, range, and scanning capabilities, while storing vast quantities of highly lucrative data of great importance to the mining and military industries. Designed to traffic in any and all forms of valuable intelligence, for scientific, commercial, and espionage purposes, Data Runners range in Class from Small to Large. |
Multi-Role | Multi-Role ships can have a range of initial manufacturing purposes, but ultimately are customized for a diverse array of purposes, ranging from military, medical, and commercial, to industrial specializations. Designed to suit the needs of any fleet, Multi-Role vessels range in Class from Small to Commander. |
Miner | Miner ships are specifically manufactured with the purpose of extracting valuable resources from asteroids and other celestial bodies. Miners come equipped with state-of-the-art mining rigs to make a quick job of recovering of any scanned materials. Higher class miners have onboard refining facilities to get a head start on manufacturing desirable products. Miner ships range in Class from Small to Capital. |
Tow | Tow ships are specifically manufactured with the purpose of offering assistance to vessels unable to return to port or drydock facilities under their own power, whether due to significant damage beyond the capabilities of deep space Repair vessels, without fuel and the means to pay for more, or a borrowed ship overdue for return to its rightful owner. Designed to recover starships near and far, Tow ships range in Class from Small to Large. |
